Bodor Ádám and the Utunk – words and music:

Music and text sustain each other. The performers prepare to improvise: rather than following a predetermined sequence, Bodor Ádám’s short texts follow one another in response to the flow of the music. In this way, the dramaturgy of the performance is shaped by their reciprocal influence. This allows for the establishment of a wide variety of complex relationships. Text and music form alliances, fall into conflict, befriend one another, become hostile, join forces, and then compete—exactly as in Samuel Beckett’s radio play Words and Music, in which all of this takes place to entertain the audience.

The texts heard in the performance were selected by Bodor Ádám from the feuilletons he published in the Cluj-based literary journal, Utunk in the 1970s.
