The Frac Languedoc-Roussillon, Regional Contemporary Art Fund, an art institution located in Montpellier has two main goals: on the one hand, supporting creative work and artists by purchasing outstanding works and gradually building up a major collection, and, on the other, making this collection available to the public regionally, nationally and internationally. The Urbanities exhibition brings together works from the collection which have as their common denominator a more or less explicit link with urban culture.

The exhibition contained works by Christine Borland, Belkacem Boudjellouli, Angela Bulloch, Jean-Marc Bustamante, Sophie Calle, Philippe Cazal, Claude Closky, Liam Gillick, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Douglas Gordon / Rirkrit Tiravanija, Graham Gussin, Fabrice Hybert, Ann-Veronica Janssens, Véronique Joumard, Perter Kogler / Franz West, Bertrand LAvier, Boris Mikhaïlov, Lisa Milroy, Valérie Mréjen, Marylène Négro / Klaus Scherübel, Gabriel Orozco, Bill Owens, Philippe Parreno, Daniel Pflumm, Nedko Solakov, Annika von Hausswolf, Andy Warhol.
