TRANZ(it)FORMATION was the third important show taking place in Tranzit House between the 28th September – 3rd October 1998, consisting in a group exhibition of eight artists coming from the former communist countries and working in the audio-visual medium. Based on careful selection of the artists, the curators` main goal was to realize projects belonging to these artists, most of them coming from ex-communist countries. In spite of their age-differences, ways of expression or cultural traditions, they are more or less linked to each other by means of technical language, an interdisciplinary vision, even by their taking part at same institutional shows along the years. Beyond the necessary technical elements, adequate conditions, etc., another important target of this artistic competition was to get a corresponding media expression. Five works of artists from Germany, Poland, Hungary and Romania prove that new art (inter and multi-media) requires new systems of management and organization.
