Imagine a room where everything is white and in order
because that’s where children grow up.
Imagine a room with high walls but no ceiling:
a playpen - because that’s where children grow up.

Imagine a beam of light
coming over the back wall
and projects onto the front wall
the most interesting moments
in the lives of strangers.
⁣
The projection runs for eight hours every day
during which time the children don’t talk at all.
Seven hours of the day
the children spend time with each other.
Nine hours of the day
the children sleep.
⁣
Now imagine what would happen
if a human being
grew up 20 years
in a room like this.
